Custom Fabrication of Steel Hoppers Used in Mining & Construction Materials Handling
Hardox Lined for Heavy Wear Applications!
In this application aggregate mining customers contract Kendo to manufacture new material handling hoppers to replace a worn out parts in material handling operations. These parts, as shown, are used to transfer material from the top of a conveyor directly into a crushing circuits or other material handling needs. Using carbon steel for the fabrication , the units can then lined with HARDOX 500 abrasion resistant and through hardened wear plate. For the project in the first picture, Kendo rushed the fabrication to 3 weeks to help the operation keep to coming to a standstill. The hoppers are still in operation today and are maintained regularly by Kendo field technicians.
The finished dimensions were 12 ft. long x 12 ft. wide x 12 ft. tall. Q & A inspection included weld testing and structural integrity.
